Biographical / Historical Note

The Las Vegas Numismatic Society (LVNS) focused on the collecting and selling of rare coins and precious metals. The first annual Coin Show was held at the Sahara Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada in 1963. Since that year, the event has continued to draw those interested in purchasing rare and historical coins, as well as those committed to preserving or restoring metal-based currency systems, notably silver. In addition to the annual Coin Show, the Las Vegas Numismatic Society has also been politically involved with local and national officials regarding numismatic areas of concern.

Acquisition Note

The materials were donated in 1987 by Carl G. Taylor; accession number 87-41.
