Abstract
The Phyllis Martin Papers (1988-1999) is comprised of North Las Vegas, Nevada reports and marketing materials, Nevada Women's History Project event invitations and pamphlets, a Kiel Ranch historical site building survey and Friends of Kiel Ranch newsletter, and newsletters, event programs, and photographs related to women's political involvement in Nevada. The collection includes materials relating to Martin's career in the Office of Economic Development, her involvement as a historian in the preservation of Kiel Ranch, and roles on planning committees for various local events.

The Phyllis Martin Papers (1988-1999) contains material related to Martin’s political involvement in North Las Vegas, Nevada, her work for the North Las Vegas Office of Economic Development, preservation efforts of Kiel Ranch in North Las Vegas, and her interest in the Nevada Women's History Project. Biographical / Historical Note
Phyllis Martin worked for the City of North Las Vegas Office of Economic Development in the 1980s and 1990s, where she held various positions including economic development specialist and economic development administrator. Martin also served as the secretary-treasurer for the board of directors of the Friends of Kiel Ranch Historical Site, and as the historian for the 1988 Kiel Ranch Historic American Building Survey. She was also interested in the Nevada Women's History Project, which aimed to highlight women important to Nevada's history. Martin was active in local politics through organizations such as the Southern Nevada Women's Political Caucus and the Women's Lobby.
