Abstract

The Bill Laub Jr. Papers (1966-2003) contain materials that highlight Laub’s involvement with KNPR Radio in Las Vegas, Nevada, the Republican Party in Nevada, and Southwest Gas Company. Materials include a variety of Republican Party publications, including GOPaper and New Republican Times, as well as Southwest Gas Company advertisements, publications, and photographs. The collection also contains the grant written to establish KNPR Las Vegas, agendas and meeting minutes, correspondence, and financial reports for KNPR Radio.

Biographical / Historical Note

William "Bill" Laub Jr. was born in Pasadena, California on April 6, 1951. He moved with his family to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1958, and his father was the CEO of Southwest Gas Company. Laub Jr. served as a trustee for KNPR Radio in Las Vegas, Nevada and was an active participant in the grant that established the radio station in Las Vegas, Nevada in 1977. He also worked for the Las Vegas-based gas company, Southwest Gas Company, from 1978 to 2016, where he provided industry advice and analytical support.

Materials were donated in 2015 and 2017 by Bill Laub, Jr.; accession numbers 2015-008 and 2017-142.

Processing Note

Material was processed during accessioning by Joyce Moore in 2015 and entered into ArchivesSpace. In 2018, Maggie Bukowski processed, organized, and entered the 2017 addition into ArchivesSpace. In 2020, Sarah rehoused the material and revised the collection descriptoion to bring it into compliance with current professional standards.
