Abstract

The Elaine McNamara Papers span from approximately the 1960s to the 1990s and include brochures, photographs, clippings, and other information detailing McNamara's modeling and real estate careers. Collection includes information about the Las Vegas-Clark County board of trustees, which McNamara served on, and materials documenting the library bond issue from the mid-1980s.

Biographical / Historical Note

Elaine McNamara moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1953 at the age of 16. She modeled for the Bernie Lenz agency and for local shops and tearooms from the 1950s to 1980s. McNamara started her real estate career in 1982. She became a Certified Residential Specialist (CRS). She was trustee of the Las Vegas-Clark County Library District from 1981 to 1991 and chair from 1990-1991. As of 2016, McNamara continues to work as a real estate agent and CRS in the Las Vegas Valley.

Acquisition Note

Materials were donated in 2016 by Elaine McNamara; accession number 2016-061.

Processing Note

The collection was minimally processed by Tammi Kim in 2016 at the time of accessioning. The materials were quickly reviewed to provide a general description of the contents of each box and an estimate of dates represented in the material. Loose papers were foldered. One video file (VOB) was converted to MP4. No access copies were created for supplementary video files such as IFO and BUP as they contain no significant content. Duplicate files are not included. No further work was performed on the materials.
