Biographical / Historical Note

Founded in 1984 by Rob Schlegel, the Las Vegas Bugle was a preeminent newspaper focused on lesbian, gay, and bisexual issues in Las Vegas, Nevada. During the 1980s and 1990s, the newspaper covered national gay issues, such as military policies towards gays and the Defense of Marriage Act, as well as local developments, including the founding of the Las Vegas Gay Community Service Center and the Nevada chapter of Parents, Families, and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG). After 2002, the Las Vegas Bugle was largely incorporated into other LGBT publications, such as the Las Vegas Night Beat and QVegas.
