Biographical / Historical Note

The Las Vegas Black Historical Society's Records (LVBHS) mission is to compile and preserve the history of African Americans in Las Vegas, Nevada. The organization preserves its history through audio/visual recordings, photographic presentations, books, and other media. The LVBHS disseminates this history through seminars, forums, workshops, lectures, symposiums, and other creative means.

Acquisition Note

The Las Vegas Black Historical Society Records were donated in 2014 by Claytee White; accession number 2014-010.

Processing Note

The collection was minimally processed by Tom Sommer in 2014 at the time of accessioning. In 2017 Joyce Moore completed processing, created an inventory, and published the ArchivesSpace finding aid.
