Biographical / Historical Note

J. A. Tiberti Construction is a construction company and General Contractor based in Las Vegas, Nevada, that has built educational, commercial, residential, civic, public, medical, and hotel and casino projects throughout the city for over sixty-five years.

The company was established in 1950 by Jelindo Angelo “J. A.” Tiberti (1919-2006), who, as an engineer with the Army Corps of Engineers, arrived in Las Vegas from Colorado in 1941 to develop the Nellis Air Force Base. J. A. headed Tiberti Construction for thirty-nine years while residing in Las Vegas for sixty-five years. He served on the City of Las Vegas Planning Commission for twenty-five years, the Board of Directors Nevada Power Company for thirty-six years, and was active in community and professional service with the Las Vegas Rotary Club, the Catholic Dioceses of Las Vegas Finance Committee, Associated General Contractors of America, Nevada Society of Professional Engineers, University of Nevada, Las Vegas Palladium Society, and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas Foundation. J.A. was named Southern Nevada’s Engineer of the Year in 1972, the Most Distinguished Nevadan in 1987, received an Honorary Doctor of Laws Degree from UNLV in 1989, and was inducted into the Nevada Business Hall of Fame in February, 2004. He died May 3, 2006 in Las Vegas.

Since the founding of Tiberti Construction, the company’s leadership transitioned from J.A. to his two sons: Tito Tiberti from 1981 until 2009, and Renaldo Tiberti since 2009. As of 2018, Tiberti Construction’s projects include more than twenty school projects, six medical facilities, and sixteen hotel and casino projects with multi-use arenas. Tiberti Construction also completed more than sixty water and wastewater projects for the Las Vegas Valley Water District, totaling nearly five hundred million dollars.
