Elizabeth Ellery Dana (1846-1939) was the daughter of Sarah Watson Dana (1814-1907) and Richard Henry Dana, Jr. (1815-1882), maritime lawyer and author of Two Years Before the Mast. She was very interested in family history and the results of her research, The Dana Family in America, was not published until 1956, after her death.
