Thomas T. Handy was born in 1892; career army officer; served with numerous artillery units (1916-1929); served in both world wars rising to rank of general in 1945; assigned to War Plans Division (1936-1940, 1941-1945); and was assistant chief of staff for operations and deputy chief of staff under George C. Marshall. From 1945-1954, he was stationed in Germany serving as commander-in-chief of the U.S. troops in Europe in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) command and as deputy commander-in-chief of the United States (U.S.) European Command. He retired from the military in 1954.

Thomas T. Handy was born in 1892. He was a United States (U.S.) career Army officer. He served with numerous artillery units (1916-1929); served in both World Wars rising to rank of general in 1945; was assigned to War Plans Division (1936-1940, 1941-1945); and was assistant chief of staff for operations and deputy chief of staff under George C. Marshall.
