Hjelm-Hansen, Paul 1810-1881.
Paul Hjelm-Hansen, author and journalist, was born in Bergen, Norway, and died in Goodhue County, Minnesota. He came to the U.S. in 1867, and in 1869 was appointed agent of the Minnesota State Board of Immigration. He visited the Red River Valley that summer, and his letters about it in the Norwegian-American press apparently helped stimulate emigration to western Minnesota and the Dakotas.
From the description of Paul Hjelm-Hansen papers, 1869-1880. (Unknown). WorldCat record id: 122373707
