Fabius Maximus Ray was a lawyer and state legislator living in Portland, Me. He wrote and published extensively on Maine history, especially Windham and Westbrook, Me., as well as genealogy, fiction, and poetry. He collected extensive unpublished historical material. He served as vice president of the Maine Genealogical Society.
