Civil War veteran and businessman.
William Harrison Bryan was born on a farm in Tippecanoe Township, Tippecanoe County, Ind., on 15 Feb. 1845. He married Geneva Lane in Oct. 1867 at Lafayette, Ind. The couple had two children and moved to Chautauqua County, Kan., around 1867. While in Kansas, Bryan operated the Hotel Bryan at Sedan and also maintained a clothing store. It is thought that he also operated a hotel at Harrison, Ark. He died on 2 Jan. 1930.
