Essex Conference Ministers Association.

The Essex Conference Ministers Association was established in Salem, Massachusetts in 1866 as a ministerial organization for Unitarian and other liberal clergymen serving in Essex County, Massachusetts. It was originally called the Essex County Conference of Liberal Churches, and in 1955 the Conference changed its name to the Essex Liberal Religious Conference. The Conference disbanded in 1961.

The Essex Conference Ministers Association was established in Salem, Massachusetts, on December 11, 1866, as a ministerial organization for Unitarian and other liberal clergymen serving in Essex County, Massachusetts. Its purpose was to foster closer collaboration among the ministers in the churches in that area. Originally called the Essex County Conference of Liberal Christian Churches, it was a local chapter of the National Unitarian Conference. In 1955, the conference changed its name to the Essex Liberal Religious Conference, and it included Unitarian, Universalist, and Federated churches. The conference disbanded when the Unitarian and Universalist denominations merged to form the Unitarian Universalist Association in 1961.
