Vice-Admiral Guy Hamilton Burrage was born 14 June 1867. He graduated from the United States Naval Academy. He served in the Spanish-American War and World War I. He served as commandant of midshipmen at the Naval Academy and of the Norfolk Navy Yard. He was commander of United States Naval Forces in Europe in 1926-28 and brought back Lindbergh and the Spirit of St. Louis from Paris. He married Mary Ricketts Graham. He died 16 June 1954 and is buried in the Congressional Cemetery.
