Born in Rusk County, Texas, Velma Pool Capps (1902-1977) was the daughter of Andrew Horatio Pool and Sultia Robertson. In addition to having an interest in the American Revolution, the history of the South, and Eli Whitney’s invention of the cotton gin, Capps was a member of the Austin Genealogical Society.
