Manry, James Campbell, 1893-
James Campbell Manry, educator and missionary, was born September 27, 1893, in Atlanta, Georgia, and died there in 1957. He was a graduate of Boys' High School in Atlanta (1910), Harvard University (1914), and the University of Iowa (Ph. D. 1923). He traveled to India where he taught in Allahabad (1915-1921; 1923-1929; 1932-1938) and Lahore (1939) and worked with refugees (1942-1943; 1947). He retired from service in India in 1945 when he became a visiting professor in history of religion at Emory University.
