Most instances situate the company at 525 Sixth Avenue in New York (sometimes 525 1/2), though later locations include 860 Sixth Avenue. Multiple locations appear in early publications (circa 1870-1880), including, Louis Berge's Piano Wareroom, 97 Bleecker St., Hitchcock's Music Stores (283 Sixth Avenue near 18th St. and 166 Nassau Street opposite City Hall), 18 East 14th Street, 646 Eighth Avenue. The publishing entity appears to have existed from around 1870 to 1912
