Prince Albert II of Monaco was born on March 14, 1958 to Prince Rainier III of Monaco and Princess Grace (Kelly) of Monaco. He graduated from Amherst College in 1981 with a degree in political science. He competed at five Olympic Games between 1988 and 2002 in bobsled. He succeeded his father upon his death in 2005, after having served as official second-in-command since 1984. He married Princess Charlène of Monaco (Charlène Lynette Wittstock) in 2011, and they had twin children: Prince Jacques Honoré Ranier and Princess Gabriella Thérèse Marie. Albert also had a daughter, Jazmin Grace Grimaldi, with Tamara Rotolo, and a son, Alexandre Grimaldi-Coste, with Nicole Coste.
