James Lyons (1801-1882) was a prominent Richmond attorney and Confederate congressmen. He was twice elected to the state Senate, served in the House of Delegates, was a delegate to Virginia state constitutional convention (1850), and represented the state in the Confederate Congress (1862-1864). His son William Henry Lyons was first judge of the Richmond Hustings court.
