Breckinridge, Mary, 1881-1965
Variant namesIn 1925, Mary Breckinridge founded the Frontier Nursing Service to provide infant and maternal care in the mountains of southeastern Kentucky. She was the granddaughter of Kentucky statesman and former vice-president of the United States, John Cabell Breckinridge.
