Painter, etcher, and illustrator Otto Bacher (1856-1909) was an early American impressionist. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, he perfected his etching technique while studying at the Royal Academy in Munich in the late 1870s. Bacher was a founding member of the Society of Illustrators at its inception in 1901.
