Hide Profile
Parkway Community House (formerly the Good Shepherd Community Center) was organized in 1937(?) by the Church of the Good Shepherd (Congregational). For many years, Parkway Community House (PCH) was located at 51st and South Parkway (later King Drive). Parkway Community House sought to meet needs of the surrounding community, which was chiefly African American. Horace Cayton served as Executive Director from December 1939 to 1948 (?). Later PCH moved to 500 E. 67th Street and became part of the Hull House Association.
