The Niels Bohr Library is part of the Center for History of Physics of the American Institute of Physics. Its primary mission is to preserve and make known the history of modern physics and allied sciences. The photograph collection is named in honor of Emilio Segrè, best known for his Nobel Prize-winning work in nuclear and high-energy physics, but also an avid photographer and author of books on the history of modern physics.
