Peter George Peterson (b. 1926) was an investment company executive and government official. He served as Assistant to President Kennedy for International Economic Affairs from 1961 to 1963, and he was Secretary of Commerce during the Nixon administration, from 1972 to 1973. He also served as Assistant to the President for International Economic Affairs under President Nixon, and was Executive Director of the Council on International Economic Policy (CIEP).
