Socialist. Born in England in 1847 and migrated to U.S. in 1869. Active in the machinists labor movement and the Socialist Labor Party. Graduated Chicago Law College in 1895 and served on a committee to recommed reforms in Chicago public schools. Editor and publisher of The Provoker. Died in 1912.
