Munro Ferguson family.
Robert H. Munro Ferguson was a diplomat, businessman and friend of Theodore Roosevelt and his family. He served with Roosevelt's Rough Riders in the Spanish-American War of 1898. In 1905, he married Isabella Selmes; they had two children, Martha and Robert. Munro Ferguson contracted tuberculosis in 1908 and the family moved to New Mexico then Santa Barbara, Calif. until his death in 1922. His wife, Isabella, was a school friend of Eleanor Roosevelt, and in 1918, was appointed chairwoman of the Women's Land Army of New Mexico. She later served as an Arizona congresswoman.
