Meeting at its first annual convention in 1915, the Washington State Music Teachers’ Association merged with the State Federation of Music Clubs to encourage cooperation and communication among musical groups and musical instructors, to encourage the introduction of music sources into public school curricula, and to standardize and evaluate current music educational methods. The Association consisted of a number of clubs, individuals, and instructional representatives from throughout the state of Washington.
