Charles Ray Palmer (1834-1914): ordained as minister of the Tabernacle Congregational Church in Salem, Mass. in 1860, remaining until 1872; moved to the First Congregational Church in Bridgeport, Ct., and remained until 1895; trustee of various educational institutions and active in mission work.
Ray Palmer (1808-1887): B.A., Yale, 1830; taught at and later headed the Young Ladies' Institute in New Haven, Ct.; in 1834 moved to Boston, where he became a preacher and in 1835 became minister of the Central Church in Bath, Maine, remaining until 1850; 1850-1866 was minister of the First Congregational Church in Albany, N.Y.; 1866-1878 was secretary of the American Congregational Union in New York City.
