Evelyn Edith Cherry-Garrard

Evelyn Edith Cherry-Garrard (nee Sharpin) was born circa 1857, the eldest child of an eminent Bedford doctor. She married Colonel Apsley Cherry at St. Paul's Church in Bedford in 1885. Her eldest son, Apsley, was born on 2 January 1886 in Bedford and she had five daughters between 1887 and 1901. The family moved to Lamer Park in 1892, adding the name Garrard to the family name. She was widowed in 1907 and remained at Lamer Park until 1916. She died in Godalming, Surrey in December 1946.
