Burt, Joel, d. 1834.
Joel Burt was appointed the first United States Customs Collector of Oswego, New York in August of 1803. He served as customs collector until 1811, when he was replaced by Nathan Sage. Burt later went on to become Post Master of Oswego (1806-1815).
