William Humphrey (1924-1997) was an American writer born in Clarksville, Texas. He moved to Dallas when he was thirteen and later attended Southern Methodist University, but left in his final semester. Humphrey often wrote about small-town family life in rural Texas. He taught at Bard College in New York and authored thirteen books, including five novels, a memoir, and collections of short stories.
Nick Lyons is well known as a publisher of sports books, especially in the field of fly fishing and the author of numerous angling books.
