Crow was born 1897 Mar. 17 to Susan Louise Finney and Thomas Wood Crow in Riverton, Colbert Co., Ala. He was educated in the public schools of Ala., and attended both Southern College (Fla.), 1912-1913 and Ala. Polytechnic Institute in Auburn, Ala., 1914-1918.

He served as a second lieutenant in France in the World War, 1914-1918. After that war he worked in Ala. and Ky. in the coal business with his father. 1920 Oct. 22 he married Marion Bankhead in Jasper, Ala. In the 1920's he became Supt. of the Bankhead Coal Co., and in 1931 became secretary to Sen. John H. Bankhead (1872-1946).

1936 Oct. 1 he became clerk of the U.S. District Court of Northern Ala. He retired 1953 July 1, and died 1955 July 8.

Crow and his wife had two sons: Charles Brandon, b.1922 May 23, and John Bankhead, b.1924 Sept. 1.
