Ronald Gregor Smith ( 1913-1968 ) received his MA from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland, in 1934, BD in 1938 and DD in 1963. He also received a DD from the University of Marburg in the same year. He was appointed as a Church of Scotland minister at Selkirk Lawson Memorial Church, Scottish Borders in 1939. In 1946 he became chaplain to Forces, a post he held until 1946. In 1956, he was appointed as professor of Divinity at the University of Glasgow, Scotland, as was Dean of Faculty there from 1960 until 1963 . He died in 1968 .
