Served as Governor, 1921-1925. Born May 10, 1877 in Ticonic, Iowa and died September 14, 1968 at Dixon, Illinois. Attempted to ease the plight of the farmer by not foreclosing on Rural Credit Mortgages and by challenging the major oil companies to keep gas prices down.
