Roswell Turner Logan (1836-1906) was born in Charleston, S.C. He graduated from the College of Charleston in 1855. Logan began his long newspaper career in January of 1866, when he returned to Charleston after serving in the Confederate Calvary for four years. He was telegraph editor of the Charleston newspaper The News and Courier. At his death in 1906, Logan operated the Southeastern Advertising Agency.
