George Coit and Judge Townsend came to Buffalo from Norwich, Conn. in 1811 and established a drug store. They continued their partnership with a storage and forwarding business. Coit was a member of the Buffalo Historical Society, the Buffalo Board of Trade and the Water Works Company.
