Muncy Monthly Meeting (Society of Friends)

Hide Profile

Muncy Monthly Meeting was established in 1799 by Philadelphia Quarterly Meeting out of Catawissa Monthly Meeting. At the time of the Hicksite Separation --which in this area of Pennsylvania did not occur until 1829/30-- the meeting divided into Hicksite and Orthodox branches. The Orthodox monthly meeting, which reunited with Philadelphia Yearly Meeting (Hicksite) in 1955, was the forerunner of the current Muncy Monthly Meeting.
