Thomas D. Perry was born in St. Paul, Minnesota in 1924. He graduated from the University of Buffalo Law School and served as a congressional legal counselor and also worked for Bell Aerospace Corporation. In 1966 he earned a Ph.D degree in Philosophy from Columbia University. Thereafter he taught Philosophy at the State University of New York at Buffalo, where he was active in departmental affairs, including assisting in the development of the University's joint degree program in Philosophy and Law. He was particularly interested in moral reasoning and legal philosophy. He has authored and published two monographs and numerous articles in his areas of interest and expertise. In 1981, he was honored by the Aristotelian Society of Great Britain for his many contributions in Philosophy. He died in 1982.
