Charles Louis Kuhn (1901-1985) earned his Harvard Ph.D. 1929. He taught at Harvard from 1931-1968. From 1930-1968 he was Curator of the Busch-Reisinger Museum (which was the Germanic Museum from 1901-1950); he served as chair of the Dept. of Fine Arts from 1949-1953. Kuhn's World War II military service involved an assignment to rescue art in Europe.
