Established in 1956 by friends and Barnard classmates of the late Amy Loveman, the Amy Loveman Memorial Fund awards an annual prize for "the best original poem by a Barnard undergraduate." The Barnard English Department judges this contest. Amy Loveman was an editor of the Saturday Review and a key figure for many years in the Book-of-the-Month Club.
