The United Cannery, Agricultural, Packing, and Allied Workers of America (CIO) was organized in 1937 in Denver, Colorado. In December, 1944, it changed its name to Food, Tobacco, Agricultural, and Allied Workers Union of America and moved its headquarters to Philadelphia. The Texas Regional Director's office was in Houston, Texas.
