Maurice Falk Medical Fund (Pittsburgh, Pa.)
The Maurice Falk Medical Fund was chartered in 1960 through a five million dollar endowment and from the Maurice and Laura Falk Foundation. The Fund's initial fields of concentration consisted of mental health and medical education. Eventually the Fund concentrated specifically on mental health related projects. Between 1960 and 1993 the Fund awarded grants worth over twelve million dollars. Significant grant recipients include the University of Pittsburgh, American Jewish Committee, the Pittsburgh Pastoral Institute and the American Psychiatric Association.
