The legacy of Polish-born composer Karol Rathaus, who emigrated to the U.S. via Vienna, Berlin, Paris, and London in 1938 and after a brief career as a Hollywood film composer, became professor of composition and chairman of the music department at Queens College (CUNY), Flushing, New York.
