Hide Profile

The Allied Kid Company was incorporated in Massachusetts on May 24, 1929, by the merger of the McNeely Company, the Quaker City Morocco Company, the Standard Kid Company, and the Standard Kid Manufacturing Company. From the latter it inherited a plant at 4th and Monroe Streets in Wilmington, Del., and in 1937 it purchased the nearby factory of the New Castle Leather Company at 11th and Poplar Streets. The Allied Kid Company was a major manufacturer of kid leather and suede and one of the most important specialty leather firms in Wilmington.
