Claude Joseph Arceneaux, an alumnus of both the University of Southwestern Louisiana and Louisiana State University (1940; B.S.), was a chemist with Ethyl Corporation from 1944 until 1975. He was the founder and president for several terms of the Louisiana Society for Electron Microscopy. Arceneaux received the first President's Award of the Electron Microscopy Society of America in recognition of his technical achievements and contributions to the application of electron microscopy to industrial and chemical research. At the time of his retirement in 1975, he was a nationally recognized research microscopist in Research and Development Services.
