Edgar Meck Dilley, songwriter, journalist, farmer. Received A.B. from University of Pennsylvania, 1897. Best known for writing "Hail Pennsylvania." Author of Red Fox's Son (1911), The Forbidden Trail (1912), Verses n' Everything (1924), The Songs of the Class of Ninety-Seven (1943), and My American (1930). Newspaperman for: McClure Times, the New York Herald, the St. Louis Post Dispatch, and other Philadelphia and Chicago papers. Spent a short time as business manager for Nash Importers of Philadelphia after which he purchased land in Florida and became a citrus fruit farmer.
