The Army Ground Forces and Army Service Forces Food Conference was a result of the lack of progress in modernizing and improving U.S. Army equipment, supplies, and procedures noted by the Army in the period between the two World Wars. The conference was significant in its recognition of the importance of food with its direct relation to combat efficiency, and also in its resolve to maintain lessons learned.
