Irish writer and historian Standish J. O'Grady (1846–1928) has been described as "the founder of the Irish Literary Renaissance" as a result of his books on Ireland's history.

Irish author and novelist.

O'Grady wrote a number of works on Irish history, as well as various historical novels. From 1900 to 1907 he edited the ALL-IRELAND REVIEW. O'Grady exerted a great influence on many writers of the Irish Literary Revival.
