Monday Evening Concerts of Los Angeles

The Monday Evening Concerts, first known as Evenings on the Roof, began in 1939 under the direction of Peter Yates; concerts featured his wife Frances Mullen, among others, playing chamber music and other experimental works; Yates retired from the series, but the concerts continued under the direction of Lawrence Morton (1954-71) and Dorrance Stalvey (1971- ).
