Anderson, William Rucker, 1842-1939
Variant namesMiles Anderson (1795-1896) fought in the War of 1812 and enlisted in the Georgia Militia. He married Nancy Pace in 1821 and they had nine children. He joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1842 and emigrated to Salt Lake City, Utah in 1851. He served a mission to Las Vegas with his son, William Rucker from 1856-1857.

William Anderson was born in New York City in February 1840, and he died on January 18, 1930 at the New Lebanon, New York, Shaker community. Toward the end of his life he served as both elder and trustee for the South Family at New Lebanon, and he managed the farm operation there. In addition, in his later years, he involved himself in astrology and handwriting analysis.
